The business is well positioned for future growth and have created a new and exciting opportunity for an ambitious Sales / Business Development Manager to take responsibility for identifying, developing, negotiating and closing profitable business opportunities with new and existing customer relationships within the Bus Shelter Infrastructure sector.

Working closely with the Development Director and the Sales Director, you will support increasing expansion and demand for our award-winning products and services by taking the lead in growing the UK bus shelter infrastructure sales division and in representing our outdoor media business for the promotion of advertising funded solutions.

You will play a key and highly influential role as part of a  wider multi-disciplinary team, that includes contracts, project management, DOOH specialists, installation & maintenance experts. You will also be responsible for building relationships and driving sales & solutions for customers within Local Government, Passenger Transport Executives, and related partners.

The Role

  • Ensure that the division is responsive; be pro-active in pursuing business and in ensuring that tenders are influenced in our favour
  • Develop client account plans and devise winning opportunity strategies
  • Participate in the preparation of bids/contracts/proposals for prospective new business
  • Own the customer relationship and maintain this through effective account management
  • Be the customer contact – follow up promptly on all inbound leads and enquiries
  • Understand user needs and technical requirements; develop awareness of our design &  manufacturing capabilities, other services and funding solutions
  • Identify and develop opportunities for infrastructure within existing contracts / strategic customers
  • Manage all aspects of and increase the sales pipeline to ensure targets are agreed margins are met
  • Provide input into the development of sales forecasts & annual plans as required
  • Analyse the market and competition, gather intelligence and identify latest research trends
  • Establish sales and innovative marketing initiatives to leverage competitive advantage

  • Maintain list of prospects, ensure the CRM system is up to date and compliant

Candidate Profile

  • Extensive experience of and understanding of the bus shelter infrastructure market
  • A proven track record of success in a sales, business development or client account management role within the bus shelter sector
  • You might also be an aspiring estate management professional with relevant “front end” infrastructure partnership experience or an ambitious highways asset manager with an in depth understanding of the local government and/or specialist passenger transport environment who is seeking a challenging, commercially focused role
  • Technically credible in an Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) lead sales process
  • Experience in all stages of the sales cycle including managing, developing a pipeline and deal closing
  • Understanding of the UK local authority market including tenders and the procurement process
  • Able to build relationships and drive sales with customers within local government, specialist passenger transport executives (PTE’s) and related partners
  • Strong commercial / financial skills, able to produce regular sales forecasts, reports & updates – keep colleagues informed and ensure that the customer remains on board
